STI-specific Voluntary Activities by Retired Scientists and Engineers of KITEM at Home and Developing Countries

한국기술경영교육연구원의 고경력과학기술인 특유의 개도국 및 국내 STI 봉사활동 전개

반세기만에 대한민국을 세계 최빈국에서 세계 10대 경제대국으로 변화시킨 과학기술인들이 은퇴하기 시작하면서 (사)과우회, (사)한국기술경영교육연구원과 연구원 산하의 앙코르코리아사업단을 각각 1984년, 2003년, 2011년에 조직하여, 초기의 친목활동에서 과학기술 봉사, 기술정책연구 단계를 거쳐서, 개도국지원과 같은 융복합 과제수행 등 폭넓은 활동을 전개하고 있다. 여기서는 2010년대의 앙코르코리아사업단 활동을 중심으로, 개도국기관 간 과학기술협력사업 수행, 개도국 유학생 멘토링 포럼 운영, 청소년과학영재아카데미 설립·운영, STI-ODA 전문가양성프로그램 운영활동을 차례로 소개한다.

Retiring scientists and technologists, who transformed Korea from the world s poorest country to the world s top 10 economy in half century, are willing to share experience and networks accumulated over times for home and developing countries. Those retired from central government, government research institutes and industries established MOST-OB Association, Korea Institute for Technology and Education Management (KITEM), and associated EncoreKorea Initiative (EKI), by expanding her depth and scope in 1984, 2003 and 2011, respectively. In this paper, we introduce KITEM and EKI first and describe activities executed mainly by EKI in 2010s such as STI-ODA project undertakings, Global Student Mentoring Forum (GSMF), Science Prodigy Academy (SPA), STI-ODA specialist training programs, and conclusion, in that order.
