A Study on the Operational Status of Disaster Preventing Urban Plan in the Metropolitan Plan

Recently the importance of disaster preventing urban plan has increased in Korea along with increased number and scale of urban disasters. The disaster preventing urban plan so far has been centered around urban master plan which is established for a single administrative area. However, considering spatial scales of urban disasters, disaster preventing urban plan in the context of metropolitan urban plan is also necessary. In this vein, this research investigates disaster preventing urban plan for metropolitan urban plan and suggests implications for managing and implementing disaster preventing urban plan for metropolitan urban plan. This includes policy recommendations such as strengthening importance of social disaster, effectiveness of disaster preventing urban plan, and operation like urban master plan.
