A Study on the Operating status of Government Committees for Rural Development

Government departments are setting up committees to meet diverse administrative needs. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the committee, which is established and operated in relation to rural development, performs its function smoothly. For this purpose, the quality of life committee, agriculture, rural and food industry policy council, regional development committee, regional development coordination committee are analyzed, and based on the four criteria of the basis law, relations between committees, committee composition, And analyzed the operational status. As a result of the analysis, the Regional Development Committee and the Regional Development and Coordination Committee are judged to be performing the desired functions efficiently in accordance with the analysis standards. On the other hand, in case of the Agricultural Policy Council and the Quality of Life Committee, And that the function of securing democratic legitimacy is insufficient. Therefore, this study suggests alternatives to improve the operation of the committees related to the development of rural areas through enactment or amendment of the Rural Development Act. It is hoped that the quality of life committee will be able to show its position and role with the regional development committee.
