Recently, urban policy makers in Korean local governments actively have formed and executed creative environmental bylaws. It is because that residents in their territory accordance have put values on the balance between economic development and environmental protection. The four bylaws such as bylaw for eco school-lunch , bylaw for green products consumption , bylaw for urban agriculture , and bylaw for report reward system of polluter . These four bylaws are designed directly or indirectly to support economic development thereby reducing environmental demage. The purpose of this study is to meature economic impact of these four bylaws in Korean local governments. Using panel data this study compares before bylaw and after bylaw, and also compares between governments who have enacted such bylaws and who have not enacted such bylaws.
