Trust in government plays an important role in resolving public conflicts which occur frequently in the public policy-making process. The present study examined the mediating role of trust in government between the perception and expectation of public conflicts. Results showed that the perception of rational resolution of public conflicts was positively associated with the expectation of rational resolution of public conflicts, and that trust in government partially mediated the relation between them. Lastly, the implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
