A Meta-Analysis of the Research Trends of Regional Science & Technology

In this study, based on the theme of local science and technology, an overall meta-analysis on the recent trends in research and their main points was conducted after selecting papers on clusters and science cities, local knowledge production and its effects, the role of universities in a local society, local innovation policy in the perspective of the government or the nation, and spatial proximity and innovation system in the local perspective. After analysing the trends of research topics, purpose, subject, method, and contents related to local science and technology, proposals for further research were made. Main points of the papers studied in this research is the need to maintain and develop the support system of the local science and technology at the government level as well as taking the effectiveness of related policies into consideration, and the need for a strong link between universities and industries, and the local region and the government for regional development.
