The Analysis on Perception of Importance and Performance of School Health Promotion Program in Local Government - The Case of Health Teachers of Elementary and Secondary Schools in Gangwon Province -
The school health promotion programs are likely to have a huge impact on not only the efficiency of school education but the health promotion of individuals, their families and local communities. At the same time, it may be one of the factors to affect national medical spending that is on the rise due to the population aging and an ensuing increase in chronic diseases. In this context the purpose of this study was to examine the necessity, objectives, and components of the school health promotion programs, to investigate the perception of teachers about the importance and performance of the programs by applying the five personal and organizational characteristics and the five factors of an ACCESS model(administration, curriculum, local community, environments and school services of school health), and ultimately to suggest ways of expediting the development of the school health promotion program.
