Estimation and Dental Health Survey of Local Residents on the Dental Health Programs in Y-Gun District Health Center

This study was to examined the degree of dental health on dental health programs in Y district health center. Participants were 155 local residents who lived Yeosan-gun with an average age of 53.09. Self-administered questionnaires were given to the subjects from April 4 through Jun 12, 2008, to identify their the degree of oral health. A trained investigator made an oral examination of them in natural light using a mirror and explorer to determine their DMFT index. Data were analyzed with frequency, percent and graph using the Excell and SPSS WIN 12.0 program. The DMFT index of the subjects was 9.10, which was higher than the national mean for the same age. The DMF rate of male and female were 85.9%, 91.5%, respectively. Also, The satisfactory degree of local residents was very high in health center program. Based on the findings, this result suggest that the implementation of dental health promotion should be considered for various factors in local residents of health center.
