A Study on the Present Condition and Development Strategies of Eldery Welfare in Taean-gun

The aging society has been advanced more than expected, due to the development of various advanced technology especially in medical fields. Accordingly, the average expected life is growing older and older; and, the number of the aged has been increased gradually. Also, the rapid urbanization and nuclear families enable the society to make a change of the concept of the traditional family. Therefore, it is about time to consider the problem of old aged people seriously regardless of government or nongovernment sector. The local government should have their basis on the policy of government about the social welfare, regional features, and the desires of the regional residents. In this study we would reconsider the present condition about the policy of social welfare of government, and check the situations of social welfare with focused on elderly welfare in Taean-gun. We would show what kinds of works Taean-gun should do for its social welfare.
