This research examines the influence of the local press on the policy process of the local autonomous entities. The range of this research is public officials higher than the fifth grade at the Jeju Provincial Government. The research method is questionnaire analysis. The results show that public officials at the Jeju Provincial Government depend on the press for public opinion collection about the policy. Also, they are highly influenced by the local press in problem recognition, policy development, policy making, and policy evaluation. This research also analyzed the difference in the influence of the press based on the meeting frequency and meeting time between public officials and journalists.
