The expansion of global value chain is becoming an established paradigm due to technological development and changes in the trade environment. Such global value chain formation is increasing competition among companies due to developments in transportation mode and information communication technology, the emergence of low cost domestic suppliers in emerging markets, and changes in corporate strategy due to trade liberalization. As exports through digital commerce of SMEs have become more active since 2015, the number of SMEs that utilize the support system for SMEs in government-related business through digital commerce is rising. The purpose of this study aims to analyze the export promotion plan of Korean SMEs through the digital commerce in the global value chain and draw out implications. It is necessary for Korean SMEs to explore opportunities for export through digital commerce and to find ways to open overseas markets.
