Analysis on the Research Trend and Characteristics of the Science & Technology Policies

This study aims to overview and summarize the topic, unit, purpose, and methodology of the researches of the science & technology policies from 2003 to 2012 chronologically in order to capture the characteristics of the research trend. For this purpose, a comprehensive meta-analysis of research papers(342) on science & technology, R&D, partnership between economies & academia, network, and cluster was conducted. The results of this analysis as follows: First of all, researches related R&D has reached almost half of the analyzed. Second, the purpose of the research papers is focused on mainly for practical purposes such as fact findings and policy suggestions. Third, the analyzed papers utilized the qualitative methodology like literature review and case study than quantitative one. Fourth, the unit of analysis of the research study was primarily focused on the national level of analysis. However, the research papers on the network and cluster were mainly conducted the regional level of analysis.
