마틴 루터의 초기 “ 정경적 강독” 과그의 칭의론적 전환에 관한 연구

A Study on Martin Luther’s Early “Canonical Readings” and His Conversion of Justification

  • 23

The aim of this article is to review Luther’s journey to find and develop the theology of justification. Based on “ad fontes,” he had “sola scriptura” as the slogan of his reformation. “Sola scriptura” implied that the perfect answer should exist and the answer must be found in the Scripture inductively. Luther’s justification had returned to Paul’s justification, therefore it is important to know how Luther understood Paul’s. This article examines the process of Luther’s understanding justification with the lens of Augustine’s tradition also. Paul’s justification was followed by Augustine at the beginning of Medieval Church, however it had been influenced later by Pelagius who emphasized man’s free will. Luther dispelled semi-Pelagian. Even though Luther had been influenced by Augustine, his justification was a little different from Augustine’s. By reviewing his lectures of Psalms, Romans, Galatians, and Hebrews it discusses the way Luther developed his justification.
