‘포퍼형 토론’의 철학적 배경

The Philosophical Background of Popper-type Debate

본 연구는 ‘포퍼형 토론’에 내재된 의미와 교육적 원리를 규명하기 위하여, 포퍼형 토론의 철학적 배경을 탐색하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해서 다음과 같은 내용을 다루었다. 첫째, ‘포퍼형 토론’과 관련된 선행 연구를 검토하였다. 둘째, ‘포퍼형 토론’의 형식과 방법을 검토하고, 이를 통해 그 특징을 추출 하였다. 셋째, ‘포퍼형 토론’의 토대를 이루고 있는 철학적 배경을 고찰하였다. 즉 포퍼의 철학 사상 중 구체적으로 어떤 것들이 포퍼형 토론의 토대가 되고 있는지, 그리고 양자의 관련성에 대하여 확인하였다. 그 결과 ‘포퍼형 토론’은 포퍼의 철학 사상 중에서도 비판적 합리주의, 가설-연역적 방법, 탐조등 이론, 이성의 오류가능성, 시행착오 방법, 추측과 반박, 반증가능성, 지식의 정당화 논리 등에 토대를 두고 있음 이 밝혀졌다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the philosophical background of Popper -type Debate in pursuance of investigating its intrinsic meaning and educational principles. In order to achieve this aim, I examined the following contents. Firstly, I reviewed previous studies on Popper-type Debate . Secondly, I analyzed the form and method of Popper-type Debate, and extracted its characteristics. Thirdly, I examined the philosophical background of the Popper-type Debate . More specifically, my inquiry identified Popper s philosophical ideas and thoughts that provided the fundamental basis for the Popper-type Debate, and the relationship between the two. The findings of the inquiry suggested that among Popper s philosophical ideas and thoughts, the Popper-type Debate is based on critical rationalism, hypothesis-deductive method, searchlight theory, possibility of error, trial and error method, conjectures and refutation, possibility of falsification, justification logic of knowledge among others.
