국가재난이 방한 외래 관광객 수요에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

Examining the effects of National Disasters on the International Tourist Arrivals in Korea

본 연구의 목적은 국가적 재난에 대비한 방한 외국인 인바운드 관광수요의 변화에 대한 효율적인 대응전략을 수립하기 위해 국가 재난이 방한 외국인 인바운드 관광수요에 미치는 피해의 규모와 지속기간을 추정하고자 한다. 본 연구를 위한 자료는 2000년부터 2016년까지의 자연재난과 사회재난 발생, 방한 외래 관광객 수, 소비자물가지수, 생산자물가지수, 환율 등의 월별 자료로 2차 자료 통계자료시스템에서 추출하여 실증분석에 사용하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 국내에 발생한 국가재난의 유형에 따라 방한 외국인 관광객 수요에 미치는 영향이 다르다는 것이다. 둘째, 재난 발생에 따른 외국인 인바운드 관광객 수에 미치는 영향은 국가별로 상이한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 재난 유형별 방한 외국인 관광객 인바운드 수요에 미치는 파급효과의 평균적 크기와 지속기간을 규명하여 맞춤형 재난 대응전략수립 시 선행되는 정보를 제공하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the national disaster’s effect on the international tourist arrivals in Korea. For this study, the national disaster is divided by the natural disaster and social disaster. Also, the international tourist arrivals in Korea, consumer price index, real exchange rate and production index of nation(Korea) were gathered from various secondary data bases for this study. The data used for this study is the monthly data from Jan, 1995 to Dec, 2016 in Korea. The empirical results show that the national disaster influenced on the total and each country’s international tourist arrivals in Korea, and the type of national disaster(natural and social disaster) differently influenced on the total and each country’s international tourist arrivals in Korea. In addition, the duration of the national disaster’s effect on the each country were differed by nationality and type of national disaster. This study would provide useful information required to establish tailor-made national disaster response strategies for each types of disaster and for each nationality.
