한국군 내에서 군사회복지사의 개입대상 및 역할

A Study on the Intervention and Role of Military Social Workers in Korean Military

본 연구는 군인의 심리사회적 욕구를 고려한 실질적인 사회복지서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 군 간부를 포함한 모든 장병들을 대상으로 한 보편적이고 통합적인 접근을 할 수 있는 사회복지서비스의 제공이 절실히 요구되므로 현시점에서 우리 한국군, 특히 장교들을 대상으로 군사회복지사의 역할에 대한 인식과 사회복지욕 구를 탐색해 봄으로써 향후 우리군의 군사회복지정책 수립 및 추진에 대한 기초자료를 제공함은 물론, 군사회 복지에 대한 인식 확대와 제도화를 촉진하기 위해서 실시하였다. 조사연구는 육·해·공군본부를 비롯한 각급부대 장교 670명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 미회수 및불성실 답변, 내용기재가 미비한 설문지 40부를 제외한 630부를 최종 분석하였다. 연구결과 각 제대별 군사회복지사의 개입대상에 대한 필요성을 비롯하여 각 제대별로 수행하는 세부역할 관련 모든 문항에서 필요성을 높게 인식하고 있었으며, 특히 군 생활 경험이 많거나, 실 병력을 직·간접 지휘 하거나, 전문지식이 많을수록 군사회복지에 대한 욕구 및 필요성을 상대적으로 더 높게 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타남으로써 군대 내 사회복지실천 현장에서 사회복지상담의 필요성 및 중요성을 확인할 수 있었다.

This study bases its starting point on the premise that a perception survey was needed to be taken by all military personnel including army executive members in order to provide practical social work service in military that takes the psychosocial needs of servicemen into consideration. Currently, our army society desperately needs the provision of a social welfare service which has a universal and integrated approach. For this, perceptions regarding the role of the military social worker and the social welfare needs of the Korean military, in particular the officers, will be explored and this will not only provide baseline data for the establishment and promotion of a military social welfare policy, but will also provide empirical data that will institutionalize and expand perceptions of military social welfare. Surveys were conducted on 670 officers from each unit and 630, excluding 40 which were not returned or had insufficient responses, were used as data in the final analysis and the following results were deduced. At each level, the need for the intervention of military social workers and the need for the detailed roles they perform were all perceived to be high and the need for military social welfare was perceived to be especially high when the subject has had a lot of military experience, has directly or indirectly has lead troops, or has a lot of specialized knowledge.
