Adult Learners Learning Experience and Motive for Participating in Four Pillars of Destiny Course

성인학습자의 참여동기와 학습경험에 대한 연구는 다양한 분야에서 이루어지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 성인학습자의 명리학 강좌 참여동기와 학습경험을 알아보고, 명리학 강좌 참여가 그들에게 어떤 교육적 의미가 있었는지 살펴보고자 했다. 명리학 강좌는 동양의 자연 과학적 논리를 통해 인생 경험에 비춰 현재와 미래의 문제에 대한 해결책을 제시할 수 있다. 또한 카운슬링 및 길잡이 역할을 해주고, 교육적 의미를 내포하기에 연구가 필요 된다. 이를 위해 명리학 강좌 참여자 6명을 대상으로 심층면담과 참여관찰을 실시했다. 연구 결과, 성인학습자들이 여러 상황과 경로를 통해 알게 된 명리학 강좌의 참여동기가 인간 삶을 조명해보는 학습경험으로 이어졌고, 더 나은 삶을 살기 위한 원동력이 되었다. 본 연구를 통해 명리학을 평생교육학에 접목하여 연구할 수 있다는 점에서 가치 있는 학문임을 제시하고, 지속적이고도 다양한 연구가 필요하다.

Researches about participation motive of adult learners are held in various areas. Thus, the objective of this study was to understand adult learners learning experience and motive for participating in four pillars of destiny course, and also to understand meanings of their participation in four pillars of destiny course through in-depth interview and participatory observation. Four pillars of destiny course can suggest solutions about the present and the future situations through natural science of orient. Also it could be useful guide for people, Because of its educational meaning, it is need to study. Thus, the objective of this study was to understand adult learners learning experience and motive for participating in four pillars of destiny course, and also to understand meanings of their participation in four pillars of destiny course through in-depth interview and participatory observation. For this study, we conducted in- depth interviews and participant observation with six adult learners participating in four pillars of destiny course. In the results, adult learners motive for participating in four pillars of destiny course caused by diverse conditions and paths was led to learning experience that could illuminate human s life, which became the driving force to move toward another new lifestyle. Through this study, the four pillars of destiny was suggested as a valuable study in the aspect that it could be researched in the combination with lifelong education. Based on this study, it would be necessary to have continuous and diverse researches in the future.
