경제주간지 표지이미지 내 개별이미지의 상징성 연구

A Study on the Symbolism of Individual Images in Economic Weekly Cover Images: Focusing on the visual characteristics of individual images in the cover image of the economy weekly 「Money S」

경제주간지 표지는 크게 텍스트, 이미지, 레이아웃으로 구분해 분석할 수 있는데, 텍스트에는 제호와 헤드라인, 소제목, 발행일, 각종문구, 가격 등이 들어가고, 이미지에는 표지이미지, 마크, 바코드 등이 들어가며, 레이아웃은 이들 텍스트와 이미지의 구성과 짜임새를 가리키는 말이다. 본 연구에서는 국내 경제주간지 표지이미지가 헤드라인에 종속된 경향이 크다는 점에서 먼저 헤드라인의 종류(산업/상업/금융/부동산/시장/재테크)를 살펴보았으며, 개별이미지의 형태에 따라 인물/사물/상황으로, 또한 개별이미지의 형식에 따라 ‘단독/조합’, ‘도상/지표/상징’, ‘사진/일러스트레이션/컴퓨터그래픽’으로 분류해 살펴보았다. 그 결과 본 연구는 표지이미지의 대부분이 사물, 도상적 이미지의 조합으로 만들어지며, 컴퓨터그래픽을 사용하는 경우가 많다는 것을 확인했다. 마지막으로 표지이미지의 상징은 직유가 많이 사용되나 제유와 환유도 적지 않게 사용되며 오히려 은유의 사용이 적다는 점에서 경제주간지 표지이미지의 경우 직접적이고 관련성이 큰 상징적 기법을 주로 사용함을 확인했다.

Economic weekly’s cover can be divided into the text, image and layout. The text includes title, headline, subtitle, publication date, various phrases, and price. Images include cover images, marks, and bar codes. The layout is the text and image structure and texture. In this study, I analyzed the cover image of domestic weekly magazine. First, I looked at the kinds of headline (industrial/commercial/financial /real estate/market/Tech) in that the cover image tends to be subordinate to the headline. I classified them into figures/objects/situations according to the form of individual images. I looked at ‘individual/combination’, ‘image/indicator/symbol’, ‘photography/illustration/ computer graphic’ according to the format of individual images. In this study, it was confirmed that most of the cover images are made of a combination of objects and images, and computer graphics are often used Finally, the symbol of the cover image is used a lot of simile, but it is used not much petroleum and oil, but rather the use of metaphor. As a result, the economic weekly magazine of the cover image is mainly using the symbolic technique which is direct and relevant.
