This study investigates the effects of storage on the market prices and farmers’ income, focusing on the seasoning vegetables of onion and garlic. Based on the simulation analyses through the market equilibrium model, it is expected that if the storage amount decrease, the price in the harvesting season falls and the price in the off-seasons increases. Compared with the case of garlic, the decrease in the storage amount of onion is analyzed to have larger impact on the market in harvesting season than in off-seasons. The overall results of this study demonstrate that storage in private sector has a great impact in stabilizing prices. This suggests private companies that engage in the storage business can become very useful partners in implementing supply and demand stabilization policy.
