The problem of control system for a flexible manufacturing system(FMS) is described. FMS consists of machines that can perform a variety of tasks on a family of parts. The machines are unreliable and main difficulty the control system faces is to meet production requirements while the machines fail and are required at random times. In this model, multilevel hierarchical control model is proposed which involves a stochastic optimal control problem. Optimal production policies are characterized. In this paper, and adaptive model predictive controller for FMS nonlinear processes using fuzzy model is proposed. This method consists of two parts. In the part of fuzzy modeling, an interactive algorithm is presented to identify a fuzzy dynamic process. At the first stage in the algorithm, a fuzzy model, the data space is divided into some sub-spaces by the fuzzy variables. At the second stage, a fuzzy model is identified in each sub-space. At the first stage, in the algorithm, fuzzy model is transformed to the fuzzy impulse response model. At the second stage, optimum control is determined in order to coincide the prediction result of the future process state by the fuzzy impulse response model with a desired state. In the last part of this paper, a simulation of a adaptive fuzzy model predictive control be done and the result of experiment is satisfied entirely.
