태풍에 의한 건축물의 재해 패턴 분석

An Analysis of Disaster Pattern by Typhoon

  • 38

A typhoon is a nature tropical cyclone that develops in Northen Hemisphere, and is the most active cyclone basin on Earth. The Pacific typhoon is an ongoing event in the annual cycle of tropical cyclones form. Typhoon widely affected urban areas. Over the past few decades, there has been a lot of typhoons that have dealt a large amount of damage to both the land, people, and economics of the area. Strong winds can cause buildings to collapse, as well as destroying roads and infrastructure. Strong winds can also damage agriculture by blowing away seeds and plants. The strong waves can cause shipwrecks, and even damage land because the waves can reach as high as 20 meters. The torrential rain can cause flooding and the damaging of corps. Landscape slide can occur when large amounts of water has settled on a mountain. Diseases are often found after floods and further damage crops. The authors investigated building damages, and analyzed the pattern of building damages due to the typhoon. The purpose of this research is clarify the relationship between the building damage and building characteristics such as structural types, stories, spans and outer walls. And then it will be analyzed the behavior of buildings by wind. Wind loads for the design of buildings are individually analyzed for horizontal wind load for structural frames, roof wind load for structural frames and wind load for components and cladding. The wind loads for the design of structural frames shall be individually determined in the along-wind, across-wind and torsional directions. For flexible buildings with very large aspect ratios, the structural safety against vortex-induced vibration and aeroelastic instability is checked in design considerations by the comparison of external pressure coefficients and peak external pressure coefficients for buildings with rectangular and circular section.
