단주 중인 알코올 중독자의 체험을 통해 드러난 타자의 의미

A Phenomenological Case Study about the meaning of Others that revealed from the Alcoholic’ lived experience

본 연구는 단주 중인 알코올중독자가 일상의 삶에서 마주치는 타자에 대해 어떤 의미를 부여하는지를 살펴보고자 했다. 이를 위해 단주 중인 알코올중독자 3명을 심층 면담하였으며, 수집된 자료는 현상학적 사례연구방법으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 본질적 주제는 내 밖에 있는 타자 구별짓기와 내 안에 있는 타자 조절하기로 나타났다. 참여자들은 일상의 삶을 영위하는 과정에서 단주에 도움이 되지 않는 타자와는 거리를 두었으며, 도움이 되는 타자는 가까이하였다. 그리고 도움이 되는 타자들을 자신의 생활세계에 배치하면서 새로운 삶을 모색하고자 했다. 참여자들은 한편으로는 자신의 내면에 존재하는 타자를 의식하면서 살아가고 있었다. 참여자들은 언제라도 재발할 수 있음을 의식하고 있었으며, 술을 요구하는 내 안의 타자가 모습을 드러내지 않도록 하기 위해 일상의 삶에서 긴장감과 평정심을 유지하고자 했다. 타자 개념을 통해 단주 중인 알코올 중독자의 의식의 지향을 추적한 본 연구 결과를 통해 철학적 의미에서 타자 개념이 지닌 사회복지적인 유용성을 제시하는 한편, 이 같은 타자 개념을 통해 알코올 중독자에 대한 사회복지 실천현장에서 요구되는 행위민감적 지식과 실천적 함의도 제시하였다.

This study explored the essential structure and meaning of Others (derived from Philosophy) that revealed from the Alcoholic’ lived experience For this, Three participants once depended to Alcohol in their life are interviewed, and analyzed it by using Phenomenological Case method. The typical theme of three participants’ lived experience turned out to be 『drawing a line between I and other』, 『maintaining a alcohol-longing myself』. Three participants tried to refrain from those people are not helpful to maintain ‘stop drinking’. Otherwise, tried to put Other into the their daily life. Besides Three participants are conscious of a alcohol-longing myself that might be a cause of recurrence. And they tried to keep calm in their everyday in order not to be a alcoholic once again. Based on the results, it is suggested that the concept of Other is useful to understand Alcoholic’ awareness intention that give to the Alcoholic-related social worker a serious implications ontologically and ethically.
