학교생활 적응의 영향요인 분석

An Analysis on Determinants of Youths’ School Life Adjustment - Mediated Effect of Self-esteem and Communication -

청소년들의 학교생활 적응에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 개인 및 가정특성요인으로서 자아존중감, 가족관계, 의사소통을, 환경특성요인으로서 또래관계, 교사와의 관계, 학업관계를 변수로 선정하고 종속변수로서 학교생활 적응을 선정하였다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 논문에서는 첫째, 청소년들의 학교생활 적응에 영향을 미치는 변수에는 어떤 것이 있는가? 라는 연구문제를 도출하여 이를 소집단 면접방식의 설문조사를 통하여 입증하려고 하였다. 분석결과에 의하면, 본 논문에서 설정된 연구분석 모형은 83.560,.000으로 1% 유의수준에서 유의성이 있었다. 또 모형의 설명력도 0.487, 0.482로 설정된 변수로서 학교생활 적응을 48.7%나 설명하였다. 독립변수가 종속변수인 학교생활 적응에 미치는 직접 영향력은 자아존중감, 가족관계, 의사소통, 또래관계, 교사와의 관꼐는 1%의 유의수준에서 통계적으로 유의성이 있었으며, 학업관계는 5% 유의수준에서 통계적 유의성이 있었다. 더미변수로 고려되었던 남․녀학생 간의 학교생활 적응도에는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다. 중․고등학교의 학교급별로는 중학생보다 고등학생들이 학교생활에 더 잘 적응한다는 것이 1% 유의수준에서 통계적으로 유의하였다. 매개변수로 고려되었던 자아존중감과 의사소통은 두 변수 모두 또래관계, 교사와의 관계, 학업관계와 학교생활 적응의 과정에서는 매개변수의 효과가 있는 것으로 판명되었으나 가족관계와 학교생활 적응의 과정에서는 매개변수의 효과가 없는 것으로 판명되었다.

Students face many adjustment problems in school life. From year to year, there are, more or less, changes in teachers, classrooms, school and class rules and procedures, performance expectations, difficulty of the work, and same agers. Their successes in negotiating these challenges predict school adjustment. Several important results of statistical analysis shows as follows. First, in this model, 6 variables which is independent and mediated variables explained 48.7 % of total variance of dependent variable which is youth‘s school adjustment The figure is somewhat moderate one. Second, it is found that same age friends, his or her family, teachers, school work and self-esteem, communication with parents and teachers directly influence to youths’ school adjustment. The analysis of data shows that six variables to school adjustment, that is to say, self-esteem, his or her family, communication with parents and teachers, same agers, teachers, and school work are significantly related with youths’ school adjustment. As a whole, this study suggests that various kind of determinants affecting school adjustment must be added in order to explain youth’s school adjustment better.
