Domestic residential buildings mainly use radiant floor heating. The government is continuously reinforcing the insulation standards, so it is necessary to review the operating conditions and design data of the floor heating system in high insulation conditions. Therefore, in this study, the characteristics of daily heating operation are analyzed for passive design households, and the daily heating energy consumption is compared with the characteristics in existing insulation conditions. As a result of examining the heating operation characteristics for passive houses, it was reasonable to maintain the room temperature even if the heating supply water temperature in the high insulation housing is lowered to 40~50℃. In addition, the passive apartment houses of this study showed that heating energy consumption decreased to about 50% compared with the insulation conditions in 2006. In passive apartment houses, heat loss to the upper and lower floors becomes relatively important as the heat loss through the enclosure decreases. To prevent this, it is necessary to strengthen the insulation against the bottom layer.
