초효율성을 이용한 원양어업의 생산성분석

Productivity Analysis of Overseas Fisheries Based on Super Efficiency

Korean overseas fisheries has developed steadily since the 1960s. Today, however, the value and amount of catch in overseas fisheries are decreasing. In response to such changes, the overseas fisheries is changing into the overseas industry. Thus, this paper analysed the productivity of overseas fisheries firm by utilizing DEA, Super efficiency, and Super-SBM. We selected vessel tons, total capital, and annual wage as the input variables. As for the output variables, we selected the value and amount of catch, sales. First of all, efficient DMUs were 13 under the input-oriented CCR model and 27 under the input-oriented BCC model. Second, as a result of the super efficiency analysis, the most efficient DMU under the CCR model was DMU40, and its efficiency value was 4.434. Likewise, the most efficient DMU under the BCC model was DMU40, but its efficiency value was 7.940. Last, in the super-SBM, the effective DMU was in the order of DMU40, DMU12, DMU37, DMU14. After deriving the efficiency of each DMU, we used the Mann-Whitney U test and Robust ANOVA to analyze the difference in efficiency by the groups according to characteristics of DMU such as number of vessels, company scale, production cost and fuel cost. As a result, it was analyzed that the number of vessels had the greatest effect on efficiency of the DMU. Both production cost and fuel cost had significant effects on the efficiency, too. On the other hand, the size of the firm had a insignificant effect on the efficiency of the DMU.
