그림책 선정과 그림책 읽기 활동에 관한 유아교사와 부모의 인식 비교 연구

A study on picture book selection and reading - a comparative study on the perception of early childhood teachers and parents

본 연구는 그림책 선정기준과 그림책 읽기 활동에 대한 유아교사와 부모의 인식차이를 비교함으로써 유아교육현장과 가정 간 문학교육 정보를 공유하고, 이를 토대로 유아의 독서 활동 연계를 이루는 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 서울과 경 기 지역에 소재한 어린이집과 유치원의 만2∼5세반 유아교사 171명과 만2∼5세 자녀를 둔 부모169명을 대상으로 설문지를 회수하였고, PASW(predictive analytics software) statistics 18.0 program을 사용하여 결과를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 그림책 선정과 그림책 읽어주기 활동에 있어서 유아교사와 부모 간 유의미한 차이가 존재하였다. 그림책 선정에 있어서 유아교사는 ‘유아의 발달 수준에 적합’을 가장 많이 고려한 반면, 부모는 ‘유아의 흥미와 요구 반영’을 가장 중요하게 생각하였다. 그림책 장르를 비교한 결과, 유아교사의 과반 수 이상이 ‘사실그림책’을 선정하였고, 부모는 ‘사실그림책’과 ‘환상그림책’을 유사한 비율로 선정하였다. 본 연구의 의의는 통합교육의 대표적 교수매체인 그림책과 관련하여 유아교사와 부모, 교육기관과 가정과의 연계 방안을 모색했다는 점에서 찾을 수 있다.

The purpose of this study was to share information on early childhood literacy education by comparing the perception and criteria for selecting and reading picture books by early childhood teachers and parents, and to provide basic data on how children relate to their reading activities. We surveyed 171 daycare and early childhood teachers for ages 2 to 5 and 169 parents with children aged 2 to 5 in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas. The analysis was made using PASW (predictive analytics software) statistics 18.0 program. As a result, there was a significant difference between early childhood teachers and parents in selecting picture books and reading picture books. This study was meaningful in that it found and sought ways to link early childhood teachers, parents, educational institutions, and homes using picture books, which is considered a classic instructional medium in integrated education.
