예비교사들의 의복 폐기에 관한 연구 -경상도 소재 사범대학 여학생을 중심으로-

A Study on Clothing Disposal Behavior of Pre-Service Teacher

본 연구는 예비교사들의 물질주의 가치관 및 지속가능성의류에 대한 태도와 관련하여 의복 폐기원인과 폐기방법을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구 자료는 설문지를 사용하여 2017년 10월 말-12월 초 사이에 경상도지역 소재 사범대학에 재학 중인 여 자대학생 297명을 대상으로 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 20.0을 활용하여 빈도분석, 요인분석, 일원변량분석, Duncan test, t-test 등으로 분석하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 물질주의 가치관은 비관용 요인, 부러움 요인, 소유욕요인으로 구성되었다. 둘째, 의복 폐기실태에서 의복 폐기원인으로 가장 많이 나타난 것은 ‘색이 바래고 보풀이 발생해서’였고, 가장 적게 나타난 것은 ‘오래된 옷이라서’였다. 의복 폐기방법으로 가장 많이 나타난 것은 ‘입지 않는 옷의 옷장 속 보관’이었고, 가장 적게 나타난 것은 ‘중고판매상/인터넷 판매’였다. 셋째, 물질주의 가치관이 높은 집단은 낮은 집단에 비해 의복의 심미성이 낮아지거나 옷이 싫증나면 더 많이 폐기하는 경향을 보였다. 넷째, 지속가능성의류에 대한 태도가 높은 집단은 낮은 집단에 비해 입지 않는 옷을 고쳐서 다른 용도로 재활용하거나, 복지시설, 바자회 등에 기부하는 모습을 좀 더 많이 보였다.

The purpose of this study is to find out the causes and methods of clothing disposal behavior in relation to materialistic values and attitudes toward sustainable clothing. The data was collected from 297 female students attending a college of education in Gyeongsang Province. The data was analyzed using frequency analysis, factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan test, and t-test. The results of the study are as follows: First, materialistic values were consisted of non-generosity, envy and possessiveness factor. Second, the most important reason for clothing disposal was ‘faded and fluffy’, and the least was ‘old out’. The most common method of disposal of clothing was ‘storage in closet’ and the least was second-hand/internet sales’. Third, group with higher materialistic values tend to discard clothing more when the aesthetic of clothing is losing or boring of it than the lower group. Fourth, group with higher attitudes toward sustainable clothing tend to more recycle clothes or donate them to welfare facilities, bazaars than the lower group.
