This research investigates the relationship between perfectionism and athletic stress and burnout among 231 collegiate Taekwondo poomsae athletes participating in the study. The following results were derived by utilizing the IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0 program to conduct factor, correlation, reliability, independent t-test, variance, and multiple regression analyses. First, difference in perfectionistic strive is observed between genders, and in perfectionistic concerns among athletes in different school years. Secondly, perfectionist strive results in negative effects on stress caused by the restriction of personal time; and positive effects on stress generated by dissatisfaction in competition results, coaching, and/or career prospects. Thirdly, perfectionistic concerns positively affect the lack of fulfillment and perceived value, whereas perfectionistic strive poses negative effects on the loss of perceived value and physical and/or mental exhaustion.
