The purpose of this thesis is to find a new way to access to Yi Sang’s second novel, “The Dark Room of the Map”. This novel has been regarded as a Gordian Knot in the field of Yi Sang’s literature. Though he looks like a patient suffering from schizophrenia because of the abnormal expressions in “The Dark Room of the Map”, he thoroughly intend to show a certain message. Thus, three characters(‘I’, Lee-sang, ‘K’) in the work doesn’t mean the crack of writer consciousness and it cannot be treated as the part of schizophrenia. Yi Sang designed three characters but they are actually the one. When we interpret this, we need to consider ‘Theory of Trinity’ in Christianity. It is because Yi Sang drew Jesus Christ’s image into his other literary works. The reason is associated with his poor growth environment. Yi Sang(Kim, Hae-gyeong) had to support his biological father, Young-chang who made Yi Sang adopted to Young-chang’s elder brother. Especially, “The Dark Room of the Map” includes an allusion associated with Crucifixion. The characters in the work indicate the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He may have thought that Jesus Christ was in the same situation.
