세계화에 따른 다문화사회에서의 로컬리티 개념 확장에 관한 연구

A Study on Extension of Locality Concept in Multicultural Society in Globalization

대한민국은 지난 반세기 동안 고속성장을 이루면서 다문화국가로서의 모습을 갖추게 되었다. 국내에 유입되는 외국인 수가 증가하면서 지역이 가지고 있는 고유문화와 융화되어 새로운 다문화사회의 특색을 갖추게 되었다. 이는 기존의 로컬리티가 가지는 개념에서 벗어나 다문화적 특성을 포괄할 수 있는 확장된 로컬리티가 제기되어야 한다. 이를 위한 연구방법으로 현재까지 진행된 로컬리티에 관한 연구를 분석하고, 로컬리티에 대한 개념 및 특성을 도출하였다. 또한, 다문화사회의 수용과 융합의 문제제기가 어떠한 의미를 지니고 있는지 살펴봄으로써, 개념과 특성을 추출하였다. 이를 통하여 다문화사회와 융화되어진 발전된 로컬리티의 개념을 도출함으로써, 현 세계화시대에 맞는 로컬리티 의미를 재정립하며, 다문화 이전 및 이후 지역의 변화된 모습을 보여주는 증거를 제공해줄 수 있다.

The Republic of Korea has become a multicultural nation with rapid growth over half a century. As the number of foreigners entering Korea increased, it has become a characteristic of a new multicultural society by being integrated with the local culture. This implies an extended locality that may cover the multicultural characteristics, away from the existing concept of locality. As a research method for such a rapid changes, this study performed analyzing the research on locality until now and deducting concepts and characteristics of localities. With the results, this study extracted the extended concept of the existing locality based on combining current trends and features on multicultural society. By deriving the concept of developed locality that is compatible with multicultural society. This study redefines the locality meaning for the present age, and provide evidence showing the changes in the pre- and post-multicultural areas.
