ピッチアクセント言語における音調変化 - 韓国語全羅道諸方言を例にして -　

Accent Types and Their Shift in Jeolla Korean

本研究は、韓国語と日本語のようなピッチアクセント言語の通言語学研 究の推進を念頭においているもので、韓国語の全羅道方言を対象に諸方言 アクセントの比較から、現在の諸方言間にはどのような型の対応があり、 どのようなアクセント変化のプロセスを経て現在の姿に至ったかについて 考察した。 その結果、韓国語の全羅道諸方言の音調変化には、主に次の６つの現象 が関与していることがわかった。(1)文節性(文節単位でアクセント型を統 合、(2)言い切り形と接続形の区別および消失、（３）下降の遅れ、(4)1音 節語と2音節語のH(L)型への統合、 (5) 語頭音調の自由変異(H～L)、(6) 語頭分節音による音調。 なお、全羅道方言におけるこれらの現象は，現在のソウル方言の成立を 推定に当たり、非常に重要な糸口になる。

The objective of this paper is to describe the accent systems and their mechanisms of the Jeolla dialects of Korean. Until now, most of the Jeolla dialects of Korean have been called tone languages. But the Korean accentual system is characteristically distinct from prototypical tone languages of the Chinese type. In this type of language, it is necessary to specify the tone for each syllable. If a word has two syllables, each syllables needs to have a tone specified for it; there is no way of predicting the tone of each syllable of a word or phrase from something else. The present paper introduces representative types of accent in the Jeolla dialects of Korean, and examines both their distribution and their shift. By the comparison of the accent types among the Jeolla Korean dialects, it is shown what kinds of correspondences there are, as well as what kind of process they underwent to reach the current stage.
