국내 시민교육 프로그램 연구동향 분석

Analysis of the Research Trends in Civic Education Programs

본 연구는 최근 5년 동안의 국내 시민교육 프로그램과 관련된 연구 40편을 선정하여 연도별, 학술지별, 연구방법별, 교육대상별, 교육방법별, 교육 회기별, 초록 키워드의 빈도 분석 및 시간 흐름에 따른 분석을 실시한다. 교육 프로그램 사례를 대상으로 하므로 프로그램 유형을 범주화하고 프로그램에서 다루어진 내용 및 주요 주제 내용 분석을 실시하여 시민교육 프로그램에 대한 연구들의 흐름 및 방향을 파악하고자 한다. 연구의 결과는 첫째, 시민교육 관련 연구는 증가 추세에 있다고 할 수 있으며 다양한 영역에서 시민교육에 대한 관심을 보이고 있었다. 시민교육에 대한 연구 방법으로는 질적 연구의 비중이 크며, 비형식 교육 영역 보다는 형식 교육 영역에서 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있었다. 교육 방법에 있어서 체험, 경험 학습을 적용하고자 하는 노력들을 발견할 수 있었고, 교육 차시로는 12차시가 가장 많았고, 초록키워드 빈도분석에서는 ‘다문화’가 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 프로그램 유형 분석 결과에서 내용과 형식에 따른 분석결과로 시민 책무성 프로그램 > 시민 참여 활동 프로그램 > 시민 리더 역량 프로그램 순이었다. 시민성 함양에 따른 유형 분석에서는 시민성 함양을 일차적 목표로 하는 프로그램이 우세했고 그다음 체험 및 활동을 통해 자연스럽게 학습되는 프로그램이, 그리고 다른 영역의 연장선상에서 학습되어지는 프로그램 순이었다. 셋째, 주제 분석에서는 ‘지속가능발전 교육’을 포함한 ‘세계시민 교육 프로그램’ 영역이 가장 많은 것을 알 수 있었다. 교육목표별 분석에서는 상위 주제 4개와 하위 주제 10개를 도출하였고 주제 내용 분석에서는 상위 주제 6개, 하위 주제 18개를 도출하였다. 본 연구를 통해 추후 시민대학 등의 운영 및 교육 프로그램에 시민 참여 활성화를 위한 시민교육프로그램 개발의 방향성을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the frequency and trends of abstract keywords in 40 studies related to the domestic civic education programs for recent 5 years which are selected and analyzed according to time, journals, research methods, program subjects, teaching methods, and program sessions. To understand the trends of the civic programs, we categorized the types of program and analyzed the contents of the programs and the main topics. The results of this study are as follows: First, more researches on civic education are on an increasing trend and showed interest in various areas. Qualitative researches became more important and active in the formal education field rather than the non - formal education field. Second, by the program type analysis of content and format, the order of the result was Citizen Accountability Programs > Citizen Participation Activity Program> Citizen Leadership Capability Program . Third, in the subject analysis, the Global Citizen Education Program including the Sustainable Development Education was the most important area. In the analysis by educational goals, 4 parental topics and 10 subtopics were derived. In the topic content analysis, 6 parental topics and 18 subtopics were derived. This study expects to suggest for further direction of the development of civic education program to promote participation in the operation and education programs of Citizen Universities etc.
