Global Studies and a Challenge of World History Ⅱ

본 연구는 글로벌스터디즈의 역사화를 모색한 선행연구에 이어진 후속 작업으로, GS와 세계사, 특히 글로벌히스토리와의 접속을 모색하고, 사례 연구들을 통해 그 가능성을 제시한 것이다. 그 전제는 GS가 학문적 정체성을 추구하고 있다는 근거에 있다. 즉 지구화의 연구가 사회과학과 인문학 분야에 정착하고 있는 동안에, 글로벌스터디즈는 별개의 독자적 기반을 마련하고 있었음을 전제로 한 것이다. 따라서 그 사례를 글로벌히스토리와의 상호작동에서 찾아볼 수 있다는 것이다. 그렇다면 무엇을 어떻게 해야 할 것인가? 이를 위해서 우선 글로벌스터디즈가 지구화의 연구와는 얼마나 어떻게 달리 독립적으로 존재하는지 글로벌 지식의 장에서 살펴보았다. 다음으로 새로운 세계사적 어프로치를 통해 지역연구에서 전환된 글로벌스터디즈의 사례들을 살펴보았다. GS와 글로벌히스토리와는 어떻게 상호 접속되어 새로이 구성되고 있는지에 대하여 롱아일랜드(long Island), 디에고가르시아(Diego Garcia), 용암포의 사례 연구를 통해 접근해 보았다. 그것은 글로벌한 역사적 어프로치의 시공간의 확대를 전제로 한 다중심적이고 다차원적인 사고를 유용한 것이다.

This study can be called a follow-up studies, that is in the next studies based on the previous studies had been exploring the Global Studies connected with New World History. The aim is to explore the way of thinking for connecting Global Studies with Global History, that turned to be the core of historicizing the Globalization today. And Just tried and would have sought those case studies. This was primarily to consider the following. Global Studies was to become a new academic research sectors, and to be that consciously try to acquire a separate academic identity from the academic field of international relations. In particular, it examined whether the Global Studies and Global History can be interconnected with each other, And how to explore whether newly constructed and materialized. As part of such efforts, I described long Island, Diego Garcia and YongAmpo studies presented as case studies. In short, Global historical approach was available to research and interconnect with Global Studies. Recent examples of spatial and temporal approaches on the long Island, Diego Garcia and Yongampo studies were connected the global, local and national perspective in Global Studies. Such case studies were encouraging in that it would expand the new horizons of the existing studies of International Relations and Global Studies.
