근거이론을 적용한 상담자의 스마트폰 과의존 청소년 상담경험의 탐색

A Qualitative Study of Counselor s the process of counseling in Smartphone Overdependent Adolescents: A Grounded Theory Approach

본 연구는 스마트폰 과의존 문제를 안고 있는 청소년들을 상담한 상담자의 경험을 통해 어떠한 경험을 하고 있으며, 그에 대한 의미는 무엇인지 탐색하고자 실시하 였다. 이를 위해 2017년 울산광역시에서 활동하는 스마트폰 과의존 청소년과 그 가족에 대한 상담경험이 있는 상담자 8명을 대상으로 심층인터뷰를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 질적연구의 한 갈래인 근거이론의 분석방법을 적용하여 귀납적 개방코딩과 축코딩을 실시하였고, 이를 통해 패러다임 모형을 도출하였다. 연구결과, 총 12개의 상위범주와 37개의 하위범주가 나타났다. 상담자들은 스마트폰 과의존 상담 진행에 딜레마를 느끼나, 과의존 상담에 대한 필요성을 인식하는 중심현상을 보였다. 스마트폰 과의존 상담에서는 청소년의 가족상담이 필수적이며, 과의존 상담만이 갖고 있는 독특성에 따라 개입하여 과의존 상담방향을 설정하는 것이 중요한 것으로 확인 되었다. 본 연구의 결과에서 현재 사회의 스마트폰 과의존 현상에 대한 판단준거 미정립으로 인한 혼란가중과 상담의 필요성에 비해 주로 단기상담으로 제한되는 문제도 제기 되었으며, 인식개선의 필요성도 도출되었다. 향후 스마트폰 과의존 청소년 상담에 대한 정책방안과 상담자의 전문성 신장을 위한 지속적인 노력이 필요함을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the experiences of counselors who counseled smartphone overdependent adolescents. To do this, we conducted in - depth interviews with 8 counselors who had counseling experiences with smartphone overdependent adolescents and their families in Ulsan Metropolitan City in 2017. The collected data were subjected to inductive open coding and axis coding by applying the analysis method of the grounded theory, which is one of the qualitative research methods, and the paradigm model was derived through this. As a result, there were 12 high - level categories and 37 sub–categories. Counselors felt a dilemma in the process of relying on smart phones, but showed a central phenomenon in recognition of the need for dependency counseling. In family counseling for adolescent, it is important to intervene according to the unique characteristics of smartphone overdependent counseling. As a result of this study, it was found that confusion caused by the lack of standard of judgment on the smartphone and dependency phenomenon of current society and the necessity of counseling were limited. In the future, it is necessary to make continuous efforts to develop counseling expertise and policy measures for counseling for overdependent adolescent.
