The Formative Background of Alexanderos’s Leadership - From his childhood to the succession of throne

The purpose of this article is to examine the formative background of Alexanderos’s leadership. For a long time, several scholars including Plutarchos concentrate their’s study on the achievements of Alexanderos. And, in recent years, some researchers made a special study of his leadership. But, Many people in their studies thought quite that Alexanderos obtained power easily, so they missed some details of the formative background of Alexanderos’s leadership. Alexanderos was not the prince of legitimate Macedonian lineage. His mother Olympias was the princess of Epeiros, a barbarian. His father Philipos Ⅱ get a marriage of convenience with Olympias in order to lay foundation of Macendonian growth. Even though Alexanderos is a prince was born through a legal marriage, the fact he is not a perfect Macendonian blood created much problems including some noble resistance and the succession of to the throne. And, as soon as the powerful king Philipos was assassinated, several Greek polis and barbarian raised many revolts against Macedonia. To Alexanderos with weak military foundation, these revolts was getting more painful to settle without fail. However, Alexanderos received the best education and was trained by the best teacher, Aristotle with his friends. The most of his school friends subsequently became the capable general and colleague to make devotion for Alexanderos. Also, Alexanderos had his everlasting mentor. It’s Iliad. As far as he learn in Iliad, he practiced strategies of speed, unprecedented, and network. Alexanderos overcame the unfavorable with strategies and reborn great leader.
