This short essay hopes to give a short introduction to the recent development in the history of the Western imperialism with a special emphasis on its technological side. For this, the author tries to discuss the three American scholars works, that is, Carlo M. Cipolla, Daniel Headrick and Michael Adas. First, Cipolla and Headrick stress the key role that technology plays in beginning, accelerating and transforming Western imperialism. Secondly, Michael Adas stresses the importance of the technology-centered discourse. That discourse, according to him, has been used as the most important justification for the Western imperialism. Through this, the author wants to say that technolgy must be taken into account as the one of the key factors in Western imperialism-not as a mere tool, but as an transforming agent.
