19C초 영국의 초등교육 실태와 개혁론

The elementary education and Reform Theory of England in the early Nineteenth Century

This paper is to explain the debate about elementary education and literacy and the Reform Act about elementary education. The elementary education of England is taking charge of from the church and the family with medieval. The English Industrial Revolution from about 1760 may be counted an economic success. But the government which is to process of industrialization could not positive intelligence in education problem. The most of the children in this situation attend to the place where it was the form of the voluntary private school and Dame school, the Charity school, Sunday school, the Factory school and so. The social reformers recognized the 19th century as the age of crisis and proposed the reform plan for the poor people children in the National Assembly. The interest regarding the education problem of the poor people children with crime rate increase followed in increase of same social problem and the discussion of the Poor law and the Reform Act. A new alternative plan will be presented and the National Assembly will pass by a long discussion and 1870 public education law will hold and be passed.
