幕末維新期 나가사키 ‘해군’ 전습과 幕臣

An analysis of the activities of the Shogunate participants in the Nagasaki “Navy” training at the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate and Meiji Restoration period

This paper is about the selection process of 77 Shogunate participants in the Nagasaki “Navy” training and the activity analysis after the end of the training. As a result of the examination, the following can be said. First, there was a strong tendency to seek many of the teachers of various Western-style educational institutions were selected from the Nagasaki “Navy” training center in the 1850s. For example, At the lecturer of Kobusho(講武所), they dispatched instructors in charge of gun fighting and cavalry training, to Nagasaki for reeducation. At the Banshoshirabesho(蕃書調所), they dispatched teachers with basic knowledge to Nagasaki, and after returning to Nagasaki Training, they made Nagasaki Training fulfill certain specialist training functions. Most of the faculty members of the Gunkansourenjo(軍艦操練所) faculty staff were experienced in Nagasaki training. In other words, it can be said that Nagasaki Tradition was also a production center of Western student talents. And from the standpoint of the learner, Nagasaki Training was more popular than wanting to choose even by lobbying. The majority of the actual participating Shogunate became professors at the former affiliation or at the lecturer of Kobusho, Banshoshirabesho, and Gunkansourenjo etc. For them, it can be said that the experience of Nagasaki training has been a proof of “a meaningful resume”
