EPL을 활용한 수학 영재교육 프로그램이 각도 개념 이해에 미치는 영향

A Study on the Effect of Understanding of Angle Concept Education Program for the Mathematically Gifted Using EPL

본 연구의 목적은 초등 수학영재를 대상으로 EPL(Educational Programming Language, 교육용 프로그래밍 언어)을 활용한 수학 영재교육 프로그램을 개발하여 적용할 경우 초등 수학영재에게 각도 개념 이해에 미치는 영향이 있는지를 알아보는 것이다. 연구 대상은 D광역시에 소재하고 있는 D초등학교 영재학급에서 수업을 받고 있는 4～6학년 20명의 학생이다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구에서 적용한 영재 교육 프로그램을 수행하는 과정에서 수학영재는 수행 과제를 통해 논리적 사고 및 창의적 사고, 그리고 원활한 의사소통을 하였다. 둘째, 본 연구에서 개발한 수학 영재교육 프로그램 적용 후 수학영재는 각도 개념 이해도가 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 본 연구의 수학 영재교육 프로그램 적용 후 수학영재는 정의적 영역 중수학 학습에 대한 흥미와 자신감이 향상되었다.

The purpose of this study was to find the adequate method for the math education program with EPL(Educational Programming Language) for the gifted students in elementary school, and if the program affects students’ understanding of angle concepts. The following are the results of this study. First, the gifted showed logical thinking, creative thinking and mathematical communication while they concentrated well on the tasks of the program. Second, the gifted students’ understanding of angle concepts improved after the program. Third, their interest and fun was elevated in learning math by using EPL, and they needed to study more of learning figures and other areas of math.
