청소년의 우울이 온·오프라인 비행에 미치는 영향 -공격성과 사회적 위축의 매개효과-

Effects of Adolescent Depression on Online and Offline Delinquency: Mediating Effects of Aggression and Social Withdrawal

본 연구는 청소년의 우울이 공격성과 사회적 위축을 매개로 하여 온라인비행 및 오프라인비행에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 한국아동·청소년패널조사(KCYPS)의 2013년 조사자료 중 대상자가 고등학교 1학년이 되는 중 1 패널 4차년도 데이터를 사용하여 구조방정식 모형으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, 청소년의 우울은 온라인비행 및 오프라인비행에 직접적인 영향을 미치기보다는 공격성과 사회적위축을 통해 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 청소년의 우울이 높을수록 공격성이 높아지고 이는 다시 온·오프라인 비행을 증가시키는데, 온라인비행보다는 오프라인비행에 대한 매개효과가 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한 우울이 증가하면 사회적 위축도 증가하며 이에 따라 온라인비행은 증가하지만 오프라인비행은 감소하는것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구는 청소년의 우울이 공격성과 사회적 위축을 매개로 하여 온·오프라인 비행으로 이어지는 경로를 구체적으로 밝힘으로써 청소년비행 예방 및 효율적인 개입을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 의의를 갖는다.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of adolescent depression, which is one of the major psychological problems of adolescent period, on online and offline delinquency mediated by aggression and social withdrawal. For this purpose, the fourth year panel data of the middle school first grade students was used and analyzed through structure equation modeling. The results show that while adolescent depression does not have direct effect on online and offline delinquency, it has indirect effect through aggression and social withdrawal. That is, the higher the level of adolescent depression, the higher the level of aggression, which leads to increased number of online and offline delinquencies. It is also shown that the mediating effect is larger on offline delinquency compared to online delinquency. Also, the higher the level of depression, the higher the level of social withdrawal, which leads to increased online delinquency but decreased offline delinquency. The significance of this study is that it specified the path through which adolescent depression is mediated by aggression and social withdrawal to affect online and offline delinquency, and that it provided the baseline data to prevent online and offline delinquency of adolescents and to provide effective interventions.
