수학그림책을 활용한 수학활동이 유아의 수학적 태도와 수학적 문제해결 능력에 미치는 효과 -뇌 기반 학습원리에 기초하여-

A Study on the effects of math activities connected to picture books based on brain-learning principles

본 연구는 뇌 기반 학습원리에 기초한 수학그림책을 활용한 수학활동이 유아의 수학적 태도와 문제해결 능력에 미치는 효과를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 J시의 T유치원 만 5세 유아 39명(실험집단 19, 비교집단 20)이며, 실험집단은 뇌 기반 학습원리에 기초한 수학그림책을 활용하여 수학활동을 10주 동안 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 뇌 기반 학습원리에 기초한 수학그림책을 활용한 수학활동은 유아의 수학적 태도에 효과가 있었다. 둘째, 뇌 기반 학습원리에 기초한 수학그림책을 활용한 수학활동은 유아의 수학적 문제해결 능력에 효과가 있었다. 이러한 결과는 유 아의 수학적 태도와 수학적 문제해결 능력 증진을 위한 교수학습 방법으로 뇌 기반 학습원리에 기초한 수학그림책을 활용한 수학활동이 의미 있는 대안이 될 수 있음을 보여준다.

The purpose of this study was to suggest the effects of the math activities connected to picture books for young children based on brain-learning principles. After drawing the direction of the math activities connected to picture books based on brain-learning principles through literature research, total of 30 activities were developed including pre-activities, main math activities connected to picture books, and post-activities. The subjects were 20 5-year-old children from T kindergarten located in J city and the math activities connected to famous picture books for young children were conducted through 10 weeks. The results are as follows. First, children of experimental group involved in activities connected to picture books based on brain-learning principles who the children showed high in mathematical attitude. Second, children of experimental group involved in activities connected to picture books based on brain-learning principles who the children showed high in mathematical problem solving. The result suggests that math activities connected to picture books based on brain-learning principles can be a meaningful alterative as a teaching and learning method to improve children’s mathematical attitude and problem-solving.
