The Internal Locus of Control, Consumption Behavior, and Life Satisfaction of Female Consumers

The purpose of this study was to examine the influences of the locus of control and two consumption behaviors to the life satisfaction of female consumers. The samples were selected from 479 adult women. Cronbach ⍺, Pearson corelationship analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used as statistical analysis. The results were summarized as follow: 1) Overall internal locus of control and life satisfaction levels of adult women were a bit higher than midpoint. And overall planning consumption of adult women were a bit higher than midpoint. but showed lower points in excessive consumption. 2) Resulting from multiple regression analysis, the planning consumption of adult women had the positive linear relationships with the variables such as internal locus of control and age. And the excessive consumption of adult women had the negative linear relationships with internal locus of control. 3) Resulting from multiple regression analysis, the satisfaction of adult women had the positive linear relationships with the variables such as age, education level, internal locus of control, and planning consumption. The most influential variable was internal locus of control.
