A Study on Elderly Life Preparation, Job Satisfaction and the Quality of Life for Social Welfare Work

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of variables of preparation for elderly life and job satisfaction of social welfare workers on the quality of life. For this study, 750 workers were selected as samples from 85 social welfare organizations located in Gwangju and 667 responses were used for the final analysis. The results are as follows. First, social welfare workers quality of life showed 3.42 point and Job satisfaction was 3.13 point. And the average of preparation for the elderly life was 3.28 point. Second, socio-demographics variables such as gender, age and income, and conditions of working, job career, intension of job transfer affected on preparation for elderly life and job satisfaction. Also related variables such as job career, elderly life preparation, retirement prospects, and job satisfaction had quite significant effects on the quality of life.
