This study aims to identify the effects of multicultural education program with story books on the multicultural understanding and attitude of elementary school children. The students were 1 class of the 4th grade in the G elementary school in Gwangju area. The results of the study were as follows : Multicultural education program with story books had significantly positive effect on improving the multicultural understanding. Multicultural education program with story books had significantly positive effect on improving the multicultural attitude. It was also varified from the observation result that developed reading activity affected positively to the formation of understanding and attitude for multiculture. Therefore, development of in-depth and methodical program for consistent reinforcement of broad multicultural capability, by connecting development with story books.
