A Comparative Analysis on Health Behavior of One-person Households and Multi-person Households :

This study was investigated to comparative on health behavior of one-person household and multi-person household using the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(2014~2016) which was conducted by the Disease Control Headquarters. Also, the study reveals that men are likely to suffer from depression in a single person household compared to a household with more than non single person. Respectively, women are more likely to suffer from depression in a household with more than one person compared to a single person household. In the 50-64 age group, it was confirmed that the depression was more likely in a single person household. Married people are more likely to suffer from depression single person household and unmarried household has a higher chance of depression than household with more than one person. In terms of smoking, a single person household is more likely a smoker than in a household with more than one person. Overall, hypertension and diabetes are commonly found in a single person household. The prevalence of hypertension and diabetes mellitus by households was significantly higher in a single person more than in women with non single person in a household. Also the study shows that 50-64 years group were diagnosed with diabetes more frequently than in a single person household. The result of this study shows that one-person households have poorer health-nutritional behaviors than multi-person households; therefore, nutrition education program based on the data of this study needs to be developed for health promotion of one-person households.
