Effect of Academy Credit Bank System Learner’s Social Support on Learning Persistence and the Meditating Effect of Situational Interest

학점은행제 학습자의 사회적 지지가 학습지속의향에 미치는 영향과 상황적 흥미의 매개효과

이 연구는 학점은행제 학습자의 학습지속의향에 미치는 선행요인을 확인하고 변인 간의 구조적 관계를 밝히고자 하였다. 이에 학점은행제 학습자의 사회적 지지, 상황적 흥미, 학습지속의향간의 영향관계를 살펴보고, 사회적 지지와 학습지속의향 간의 관계에서 상황적 흥미의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 수도권 대학부설 평생교육기관의 학점은행제 학습자 326명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학점은행제 학습자의 사회적 지지와 학습지속의향, 사회적 지지와 상황적 흥미, 상황적 흥미와 학습지속의향의 관계는 통계적으로 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학점은행제 학습자의 사회적 지지와 학습지속의향의 관계에서 상황적 흥미는 부분매개효과가 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 학점은행제 학습자가 학습을 지속하기 위해서는 주변인들의 관심과 격려가 요구되며, 그들이 처한 환경에서 받을 수 있는 지지를 안내하고 지원하는 것이 필요하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 더불어 주로 학령기 학생들을 대상으로 다루어졌던 흥미가 학점은행제 학습자에게도 영향을 미친다는 것을 규명했다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다. 흥미를 고려한 프로그램 개발 및 운영과 학습상황에서 흥미를 어떻게 높이는 지와 같은 구체적인 활성화 방안에 대해서 후속 연구가 필요하다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effects of situational interest on the relationships between the Academy Credit Bank System learner’s social support and learning persistence. The research analyzed 326 academy credit bank system learners. The study shows significant results. First, it was found that social support and learning persistence, social support and situational interest, and situational interest and learning persistence of the academy credit bank system learners had a statistically significant positive effect. Second, as a result of verifying the effect of situational interest as a mediating role in the relation between social support and learning persistence, the mediating effect of situational interest was confirmed. These results suggest that the learners of the credit bank system require the attention and encouragement of the people around them to concentrate, succeed in tasks, and feel pleasure while they are learning. Moreover, the fact that interest has an influence on learning persistence means it is necessary to develop and operate learning program to maintain the academy credit bank system learner’s academic interests.
