초등학생의 공공도서관 도서 대출을 통해 살펴본 독서 경향 연구

The Study on Reality and Tendency of Book Lending of Elementary School Students in Public Library

본 연구는 초등학생의 도서 대출 실태 및 독서 경향을 살펴보기 위하여 공공도서관 빅데이터 플랫폼 ‘도서관 정보나루’의 도서 대출 데이터를 분석하였다. 연구대상은 2008년부터 2017년까지 전국 공공도서관의 8~13세 아동의 최다 대출도서 200권이 다. 위 데이터를 활용하여 대출연도와 성별을 기준으로 KDC, 출판연도, 저자, 번역 여부에 따른 대출건수와 대출 도서의 표현 형태, 목적, 주제에 따른 독서 경향을 분석했다. 연구 결과 첫째, 초등학생은 남녀 구분 없이 유명 시리즈물 중심의 독서 편향성을 보였다. 이는 성별 및 연도에 상관없이 꾸준히 나타났으며, 해가 지날수록 심화되었다. 둘째, 성별 변인에 따라 독서 경향성은 차이를 보였다. 여학생이 남학생에 비해 도서의 표현형태, 도서의 주제 등 대부분의 분류에서 선택의 다양성이 드러났 다. 또한 여학생은 남학생에게서 보이지 않은 판타지 동화와 같은 도서가 상위에 분포하여 도서 내용에도 차이를 보였다. 셋째, 대출연도 변인에 따라 초등학생의 독서 경향성은 차이를 보였다. 시간경과에 따라 독서 편향성이 심해졌으며 추리물과 같은 아동의 흥미를 끄는 새로운 장르가 출현하였다.

This study is to examine reality and tendency of book lending of elementary school students in public library. It is analysed by book lending data of ‘DATA FOR LIBRARY’, a big data platform of public library, and analysed 200 books of great popularity by 8~13 aged children from 2008 to 2017 as a data of the study. Through this following data we analysed KDC, publication year, author, translation cases with a standard of book lending date and gender and detected how these factors affect the frequency, type, purpose, subject of the lending books. These are the following result. First, elementary school students tend to prefer series regardless of gender. It has shown gradually and intensified as the years passed. Second, there is a difference in the tendency between the two genders. It shows that girls are more likely to choose various types and subjects of books than boys. The contents of books were shown differently as well; ‘fantasy’ is on high priority among girls and not found among boys. Third, there is a difference by variable of book lending years. The inclination of reading has become severe as time goes by. Also, new attractive genres such as ‘mystery story’ have appeared.
