A Study on the Road Remains of Pre-Jin and Jinhan Period in China, and its Characteristics

교통은 우리들의 일상과 연동되어 운용되는 기본적인 사회경제활 동 중의 하나이다. 교통의 일반적인 정의는 사람과 화물을 수송 혹은 운반하기 위한 공간과 공간의 거리를 극복하는 행위를 말한다. 교통의 역할은 공간적 이격을 극복하고 공간 간의 결합을 실현하는 것으로 주된 내용은 공간에 관한 事象이며 이는 길을 주요 매개체로 이루어진다. 고대 중국 사회에서는 여러 문헌기록에서 서로 다른 사유와 인식의 어조로 길을 표현하고 있다. 도로의 조영과 그 함의에 대한 규제(規制)는 주로『周禮·考工記』(zhouli·kaogongji)의 기재에 서 연원을 찾는다. 중심의 길은 도성을 나가 천자의 강역에 흩어져 있는 여러 길로 내닫으며 그 길은 또 다른 길을 모색하였다. 선진시기 길은 線의 공간으로 확장되었으며 진한시기에 이르러 點의 공간으로 축적되었다. 길의 갈래와 종류는 다양하였으며 국가운용과 경 제·사회적 득실은 길 위에서 이루어지거나 좌절되었다. 선진(先秦), 진한시기의 실체적 길을 살펴보고 이를 통해 길의 생성 배경과 경위를 탐색하는 계기를 마련하고자 한다. 이는 고대 중국 사회를 통한 교통고고학의 일면을 고찰하는 첫 단계가 될 것이다.

Traffic is one of the basic socio-economic activities that is linked and operated with our everyday life. The general term of traffic can be defined as the act of overcoming the distance between the spaces to enable transportation or delivery of people and cargos. The role of traffic is to overcome the spatial distance and to realize the combination between spaces; the main contents are thoughts on space, and this is enabled by having the road as the main medium. In the ancient Chinese society, roads are expressed various literature records in the tone of different grounds and awareness. The construction of the roads and the regulation on its implication are found in its origin in the『 zhouli·kaogongji』. The central road goes through the capital city to various roads scattered in the territories of the natural endowments, and those roads seek another roads. In the pre-Jin Period, roads were expanded into the space of lines, and were accumulated into the space of dots in the Jinhan Period. The sections and types of roads were diverse, and ruling of the country and economic·social gains and losses were all achieved or failed on the road. In this study, the substantive roads in the pre-Jin and Jinhan Period are to be examined, and the opportunity of exploring the construction background and the details of the roads will be provided. This will become the first stage of consideration on one side of traffic archaeology through the ancient Chinese society.
