청동기 보급의 주체와 지석묘 축조 집단

The Agents Making Bronze Industry and Megalith Builder Groups

고조선을 설명하는 고고학적 증거로서 비파형동검과 함께 지석묘를 제시한 관점이 북한과 남한의연구자들사이에적지않다. 지석묘축조가대규모노동력이동원되었다는점에서권력을 표상하는 것으로 설명하지만, 그러나그것은 자발적으로 이루어지는 공동체적협동을 기반으로 한다는 점에서 동 축조집단이 군장사회 수준의 초기 고조선 정치체에 대응된다고 보기 어렵다. 또한 지석묘에서의 동검 단수의 부장 사례는 초보적인 수준에서의 군사 지도자를 보여주고 있음에 더욱 그러하다. 비파형동검이 성행하는 서기전 1천년기 전반에 요서지역에는 다종 다량의 청동기를 제작 보유한 실력자 집단이 등장하는 바 이를 고조선 정치체에 대응시킬 수 있다. 동 집단은 높은 수준의 청동기 제작기술을 보유한 하가점상층문화 중심집단과 근거리에서 상호 경쟁 교류를 통하여 성장하였으며, 뒤이어 요동과 한반도에 이와 대등한 수준의 청동기보유 중심 정치체가 등장한다. 그러한 중심 정치체는 지석묘 축조집단과 지리적으로 시종일관 구분되지만 요서에서 요동과 한반도로 이행하면서 양자는근접하게 되는데, 결국은 지석묘축조집단은 최상급청동기 집단을 중심으로 한 정치체의 주변집단이나 기층 사회에 편입하게 된다.

Some South Korea Historians and North Korea Archaeologists have insisted that The Bronze Dagger and Dolmen are the typical material evidences for the Old Chosun(古朝鮮) Polity in first millenium B.C. The former is assumed to be the symbol of simple warrior elite and the latter shows the power of leader who could control large scale manpowers. But the cooperative work for building the large scale dolmens does not mean that the person who was buried in the dolmen tomb is an Old chosun polity s chieftain. There are a few cases of dolmens with bronze goods, but most of them include only one bronze dagger without the othe items including bronze mirror and so they cannot be assumed to be the upgraded leaders with military and religious power. Most important archaeological data which show the existence of Old Chosun are not dolmens, but the tombs with many bronze items. The typical leaders of chiefdoms society are assumed to be those who could support the professional craftsmen and traders in relation with the bronze industry, or a variety of bronze goods. I suggest that the polity of Shiertayingzi(十二台營子) Culture has emerged in West Liaoning(遼寜) region through the process of competing activities with the neighbor polity of Upper Xiajiadian(夏家店上層) Culture, which owned the many kind of bronze items which originated from China Middle land, Northern Steppe area, and the Eastern neighbors. In the middle part of first millenium B.C. another central polities appeared in East Lioning Area and then also in North and South western Korea. Those can be traced with the coffin tombs with many bronze items including violin shaped and slim daggers, and mirrors with geometric design and 2-3 knobs. Dolmen society are assumed to be just the native groups or peripherial polities, not the representative agents for Old Chosun polity.
