자기결정성이론에 따른 특성화 고등학교의 특성화 프로그램이 학습동기와 자기효능감에 미치는 효과: 호텔체험학습을 중심으로

Effect of a specialization program based on self-determination theory on learning motivation and self-efficacy in a specialized vocational high school : With priority given to experiential learning at a hotel

본 연구는 자기결정성이론에 따른 특성화 고등학교의 특성화 프로그램이 학생들의 학습동기와 자기효능감에 미치는 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 본 연구결과, 무동기군과 외재적 동기군, 부과된 동기군, 확인된 동기군, 내재적 동기군 모두 특성화 프로그램에 참여하기 전보다 참여한 후에 학습동기와 자기효능감이 높아졌으며, 특성화 프로그램을 실시한 후에는 동기군 중에 특히 내재적 동기군이 학습동기와 자아효능감이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 특성화 고등학교 학생들은 특성화 프로그램에 참여하기 전보다 참여한 후에 자기결정성이 높아진 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 자기결정성이론에 따른 특성화 프로그램은 학생들의 학습동기와 자기효능감을 향상시키며, 특성화 프로그램 참여를 통해 자기결정성이 점차 내면화되어 자기결정성이 높아진다는 사실을 시사해준다. 따라서 본 연구는 학교현장에서 특성화 프로그램 실시에 있어 자기결정성이론의 통합적 적용에 관한 이론적 근거를 제시하였다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과는 향후 특성화 고등학교에서 특성화 프로그램 설계시 방향 설정과 운영 시에 기초자료서 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of a specialization program based on self-determination theory in a specialized vocational high school on the learning motivation and self-efficacy of students. The findings of the study were as follows. There were stronger learning motivation and better self-efficacy in all the groups of amotivation, extrinsic motivation, introjected motivation, identified motivation, and intrinsic motivation after the implementation of the specialization program. Among the groups, the group of intrinsic motivation had the strongest learning motivation and the best self-efficacy after the specialization program was provided. In addition, the specialized vocational high school students became better at self-determination after their participation in the specialization program than before. The findings of the study suggest that the specialization program based on self-determination theory contributed to furthering the learning motivation and self-efficacy of the students, and that they gradually internalized self-determination and then improved it by taking part in the program. Therefore, it could be said that this study is of significance in that it offered a theoretical rationale for the integrated application of self-determination theory to specialization programs. The findings of the study are expected to provide some information on the right direction for specialization program design and on the operation of these programs in specialized vocational high schools in the future.
